Believe it or not, a lot of webmasters are still building their affiliate review sites using static HTML. As you probably know, it takes a lot of time to develop a page using static HTML. At minimum it could take you nearly a week to build a website if you are designing each single page from scratch. You will be required to redo your designs yet a second time, if you decide that you want to make a few alterations or add some other web pages. This is ridiculous and way too much trouble!

I definitely suggest that you utilize Content Management System, or CMS, to develop your website. There are a lot of popular free CMS including WordPress, Joomla, Xoops, Plone and so on. Most CMS are open source and available for personal use!

I have build numerous WP review site, it is easy and simple. I don’t need to use any page designing tools to develop a single page of my website now. Instead, I just install WordPress on my domain, set up a SQL database, come up with a nice looking theme, then install the necessary plugins. Then I have my review site up and running in just a few minutes!

But not every theme available is well suited to constructing a review site. Make sure your theme is correctly optimized and set up as the home page. You can also tweak the theme slightly to suit your needs.

Here are some tips to help you adjust your theme effectively:

1. Delete navigation on top of your homepage.

2. Turn off your various widgets. The point here is to create a focused page without any distractions.

3. Most suitable for being easily read are light color and white backgrounds along with black text!

4. Categorize the posts sequentially. For example, the top reviewed product should be at the top of the page. Then sort the sequence by descending!

These are just some of the suggestions for developing a review website using WP. Take some time to look for and collect themes and plug-ins that will help you to build an effective review site.

One of the first things you need to consider when starting a new blog is what template or theme to use. There are literally thousands of blogs that utilize this platform. Because it’s an Open Source project, it is free of charge.

This article describes exactly how you should choose your WordPress (WP) theme. If you use WP, you are likely to have to choose a theme; this theme is simply a kind of software you use to create your blog. It gives you various options to choose from in order to make the blog look exactly how you want it to. Here are some tips that will help decide which theme you want to pick.

1. Category: The first consideration is the subject of your blog. And this will determine who will be most likely to find interest in your blog. If you choose to write about cats, then your blog would fall under “Pets”. Or, if you write about your children and family life, the overall category might be “Parenting”. Once you’ve determined your category, it is easier to decide on a coordinating theme. By spending the time upfront, you’ll save yourself a lot of work later on. From Humor to Technology and everything in between, there’s a WordPress theme available. You can start by taking a look at WordPress’ own theme directory. In addition there are a variety of other websites that offer free WP themes including Daily Blog Tips and themestudio.

2. Layouts and color schemes: There are bloggers who like to personalize their blogs by using their favorite colors. If you have a favorite color, you should try to decide on a theme that matches that color; sometimes it isn’t possible to get this done, but there are hundreds of different WP themes to select from. There is another benefit of finding a theme that matches your favorite color, as you won’t need to make a lot of changes so that you can make it match. Although you should make sure you are happy with the appearance, you shouldn’t spend too much time on this because you can always change it later. You should be concentrating on the layout of the theme better. Choose the layout that you want the most. Make sure you take your time to find a layout that you want best by checking out the themes on the website. This way you will be aware exactly how you want your blog to look and can choose your layout easily. Although electrical power layouts to select from, some of the most used are:

Single Column Layout

Two Column — one wider column and a single sidebar

Fixed Width

Two Column (With Sidebar)

Two Column (Without Sidebar)

Three Column

Fluid Width.

There are even layouts that have been designed especially for blogs that feature photography or video. When choosing a theme, make sure this is something that is pleasing to you. After all, you’ll be looking at it for a long time. Once you’ve narrowed down your search, you can start testing your choices by using some sample posts and pages. Include block quotes, write comments and see how widgets would look in the different choices. By testing the theme out, you can be sure of your decision. Another tip is to step back and look at your blog with fresh eyes. Try to imagine the theme from a reader’s perspective.

3. Reason for your blog: If you know the reason you are posting this blog, it will help you categorize it and decide on a theme. If this sounds like simply an opinion blog or something you are using to write down your thoughts, you won’t need to decide so much on the advertisements and other things like widgets. However, if you’re writing a helpful blog (like this one), or one to make a profit, you should think about some other aspects to choose what you’ve already learned. You should think about whether or not you will be able to provide seo, whether or not advertisements will be supported, if you’ll be able to use widgets like RSS feeds, Spam Protection, etc., and other things. Once you sign up with WordPress, you will already have default themes to work with. It’s not hard to use the default themes, or you can choose one you like better by going to WordPress’ free WP themes site or a number of other WP theme sites. Most of these sites are easy to work with and will provide you with the support you deserve.

4. Support. When choosing a theme, its important to look for one that offers support options from the author or site. All too often themes are downloaded from a site and when problems occur, the user cannot contact anyone to help them. This can cause a good deal of frustration and take up valuable time and money.

Something as simple as the company's logo can have a huge affect on the success level achieved. Your goal as a business owner is to create a memorable and recognizable brand, an identity that can only be developed by designing a high-quality logo and build a solid reputation that your customers with identify and come back to for repeat business again and again in the future.

A major element of a successful business is having a memorable logo. If you happen to be one of the millions of business owners trying to develop the perfect company logo for your organization, offered here are some pointers from the vice president of marketing services for an online design and printing company on the best way to create an effective, meaningful logo for your company.

You don’t want your company’s logo to be flamboyant, rather you want it to show off the essence of your company. A great logo will tell people who may be viewing it for the first time just what your company is about. The logo also could give a clear and consistent company image. The colors in your logo are important in accomplishing this goal whether you chose to believe it or not. Take the color blue, for instance, which is a popular color in logos because it creates a sense of trust in the viewer.

Whether your logo is appearing in a newspaper ad or the side of a city bus, it should be the focus of everyone who sees it. Ensure that the logo you choose is not only bold and memorable, but that it pops as well to stand out in consumers’ minds. You must be sure that the design is going to go well with your business, and if you want to try it out for feedback, go for it!

Never make your design too complicated, it loses effect when there’s too much to it. It should not be overly complex, because it will not lend itself to multiple uses, and it can potentially confuse your customers and fail to deliver your message clearly. Your logo must send a clear message to your whole audience as it will be used in many different mediums and advertising spots. You have to be sure that it will be legible in color as well as in black and white, because your documents are going to be copied in black and white or faxed over to someone else.

Logos can and will be displayed on items as small as business cards or as large as presentations; keep this in mind when making the decision on your logo. A tag could also be included in your company’s logo; the tag is simply a list of services or products your company provides. The tag sets your organization out from the remainder. Taglines should not be very long; like the logo, they should be simple and easy to remember.

Once you get a logo developed, put it up everywhere you can. Get it online. Get it into magazines and newspapers. Put it on your letterhead, business cards, presentation folders and stationary. Put it in the window of your shop. Every single piece of promotional material you produce should flaunt that logo. Your envelopes, your memo pads, everything. When you send out emails, the logo should be part of your signature line. The logo needs to appear on your website. Any letters or circulars or reports you send out should have the logo emblazoned on them. When you establish the logo and tie it to your company, then it will start to work for you. People will associate it with your company and help make you a household name. These hints on logo design should give you some ideas about how to go about designing your company’s logo. Even with a limited budget, you should still be able to conceive of something effective that will begin growing your company and raising awareness about your brand.
